In Harmon Hiatt record, page 10; One of Benajah's dau. married a Clawson
and they moved to Maury Co., Tenn. where he grew thousands of bushels of
potatoes for the Chicago market, selling one season, 12 to 15 thousand bushels. She died there.

In 1928 Council Bluffs City Directory lists Benj E., clerk for Mona Motor Oil Co., living at 446 Fuller Av.

Ben Hiatt
Ben and Charlotte (Lottie) Spencer Hiatt, moved to Cherry County, Neb. and
after some bad farm years in Neb, in 1924 they moved to Portland Oregon where
Ben worked in a brick factory. He lost his right arm in an industrial
accident, but this disability never dampened his enthusiasm for life. They had
four children, Doris, Aldis, Lyle and Erman, and clebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary.

Hiatt and Samuel Hill are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal sum of fifty pounds for the payment of which sum well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, ourheirs &c. jointly & severally & firmly by these present as witness ourhands and seals this 22nd day of July 1836. The condition of theabove obligation in such that whereas there is a License about toissue for the above named Benjamin F. Hiatt and Martha Ann Hill now should there be no legal cause to obstruct said marriage then this obligation to be void.
