Imogene- Doc Hiatt a local fur merchant recently bought a fox pelt for which
he paid $6.50. thinking at the time he had made a good bargain. This belief
has since been confimed by fur experts who pronounced by fur experts who
pronounced the pelt to be that of a true silver fox, an animal much sought for
but rarely found. And now comes the story that the pelt has been sold for
$300. The animal which once wore this costly coat is said to have been
captured in the hills near Sidney, but since there is supposed to have been a
nest of cubs left, representing a small fortune, those on the inside are
naturally quite reticent about giving out information.
Charles Milton and his family attended the 1927 Estes Family reunion at
Estes Park and listed himself as a second cousin. He was living in Colorado
Springs at the time. Actually, Peter Estes and Esther Hiatt were his great
Aunt & uncle, Joel a first cousin once removed.
