HH book, pg. 558 Married out of unity, 18 May 1889 Chesterfield MM,
Ohio. He died in 1936. Had a dau. who died at 8 years old.
From a letter of Don Hiatt, 6 Feb 2006; 1905 NE 108th St., Mitchellville, IA. 50169
Isaac was the only child of the second marriage. He lived in Chesterhill, OH until 1861 when the family moved by covered wagon to Mitchellville, IA.
We have his journal in which there are several entries of fruit tree plantings and a reciepe for grafting wax among other records. He evidently enjoyed fruit production as well as tree planting. One story I remember of him was when he planted a tree and the grandchildren were helping him he would always instruct them, "Lean them a little to the norht and let the sun pull them back."
There were many fruit trees, a long grape arbor, a large garden and a huge white pine and walnut windbreak around the home, all of which I am sure he started.
