Guilford Co,NC Will Book, Vol A - Nathan HIATT:wife, Mary HIATT; son, Christopher; executors, Uncle William HIATT and brother-in-law Joseph ----gh; witnesses Jesse WILLIAMS, Joshua DICKS, Asher HIATT; dated 6th day of ? month,1786. Will of... Nathan Hiatt Whereas I Nathan Hiatt of Guilford County + State of North Carolina, farmer, being in --- state of health, that of sound mind + memory, considering the uncertainty of life + certainty of death, think fit + proper to make what follows as my last will and testament. Imprimis - That is to say first + foremost it is my will + I do hereby order that my just debts be paid. Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Hiatt my bay mare + side saddle + one four year old heifer with all my household furniture not herein after mentioned and --- to her, her heirs + assigns forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my son Christopher Hiatt my thred stockings + black silk handkerchief my neck stock + buckle with all the money arising from the sale of the following viz: my great coat thick cloth coat + jacket worsted (?) + lining coat + jacket --- --- breaches, cotton + lining coat jack coat + breaches fur hats + cotton + wool coat + --- other property of what namesoever + wheresoever to be found which I direct --- to --- the money thence arising after the payment of my debts, I give to him his heirs and assigns forever. Item - any part of my wearing (?) cloths not here mentioned I give to my wife to dispose of as she may think best. And lastly I ordain + appoint my uncle William Hiatt + my brother-in-law Joseph Thornbrugh the whole + sole Executors of this my last will + testament revoking and making void former will or wills, ratifying + confirming this + no other to be my last will + testament. Mary Beals, (Mother of Rachel, above) born 24 June 1692, dau. of John Beals and Mary Clayton.
Richard and Mary Beals Harrold had children:
1) Elizabeth born 10 May 1711 marr. Thomas Mills on 18 Jun 1730 New Garden MM. Thomas Mills was the son of John Mills.
2) Mary born 28 Mar 1713
3) John born 21 Dec 1715
4) Jonathan born 2 Feb 1717/1718
5) Mary born 19 nov 1718
6) Rachel born 9 April 1721 married Hur Mills, Married 1738.
7) Richard Jr.
John Mills, Father of above Hur Mills, was born 1689/1690 in Penn died
1760 in Guilford Co., N.C. married Rachel Bates. Rachel was born in 1691, and died 1724/1730. John Mills 2nd marriage was to Rebecca Harrold.
John and Rachel Bates children:
Thomas, Henry, Hur and John Jr. Mills. Hur Mills was born 1717/1718 in
Chester Co., Penn died 26 Nov 1761 married Rachel Harrold.
Notes of Jeremiah Mills Jr. mentions that Christopher and Elizabeth had a
large family. He states that they are much scattered some gone to Oregon [hannah2.FTW]
