Mrs. Amanda H. Hiatt, 63, who came to Elkhart last March, from Marion,
Ind. died about 10:25 am. today in her home, 701 Blaine Ave. from effects of a
tumor. She underwent an operation four weeks ago. She had been home two
weeks.
Mrs. Hiatt was born in Grant County near Marion and live in tht neighorhood
all her life until coming her last March. The body will be taken to Marion
tomorrow morning and services will be held there.
She is survived by her husband A.F. Hiatt, four sons, Joseph, Will, Elra
C., James C., three daughters, Mrs. Jack E. Mahan (Mary), Mrs. M.J. Swartz
(Edith) and Mrs. Clair Smith (Edna). One sister Mrs. Mary Nelson of Marion.
Mrs. Hiatt was a member of the Central Christian Church of Marion.
